Related Product Information for anti-ABL2 antibody
Entrez Summary: ABL2 (ARG, Abelson-related gene) is a cytoplasmic tyrosine kinase which is closely related to but distinct from ABL1. The similarity of the proteins includes the tyrosine kinase domains and extends amino-terminal to include the SH2 and SH3 domains. ABL2 is expressed in both normal and tumor cells. The ABL2 gene product is expressed as two variants bearing different amino termini, both approximately 12-kb in length. c-Abl shows both cytoplasmic and nuclear localization, c-Abl is involved in two different chromosomal translocations present in human leukemias, which generate Bcr-Abl and TEL-Abl.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the Abelson family of nonreceptor tyrosine protein kinases. The protein is highly similar to the c-abl oncogene 1 protein, including the tyrosine kinase, SH2 and SH3 domains, and it plays a role in cytoskeletal rearrangements through its C-terminal F-actin- and microtubule-binding sequences. This gene is expressed in both normal and tumor cells, and is involved in translocation with the ets variant 6 gene in leukemia. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different protein isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Nov 2009]

Uniprot Description

Arg: a cytoplasmic tyrosine kinase of the Abl family. Expressed at the highest levels in mature B cells. Promotes catalase degradation in the oxidative stress response. Localizes to dynamic actin structures and may regulate cytoskeleton remodeling during cell differentiation, cell division and cell adhesion. 4 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Abl family; EC 2.7.10.2; Kinase, protein; Oncoprotein; Protein kinase, TK; Protein kinase, tyrosine (non-receptor); TK group

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 1q25.2

Cellular Component: actin cytoskeleton; cytosol; extrinsic to internal side of plasma membrane

Molecular Function: actin filament binding; actin monomer binding; magnesium ion binding; manganese ion binding; non-membrane spanning protein tyrosine kinase activity; protein binding; protein kinase activity; protein-tyrosine kinase activity; receptor binding

Biological Process: elevation of cytosolic calcium ion concentration; innate immune response; peptidyl-tyrosine phosphorylation; positive regulation of oxidoreductase activity; protein modification process; regulation of autophagy; regulation of cell adhesion; regulation of cell proliferation; regulation of endocytosis; signal transduction; transmembrane receptor protein tyrosine kinase signaling pathway

Product Notes

The ABL2 abl2 (Catalog #AAA475735) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-ABL2 Mouse mAb reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's ABL2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunocytochemistry (ICC). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the ABL2 abl2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "ABL2, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
