Mouse anti-Human A2M Monoclonal Antibody | anti-A2M antibody
Mouse anti Human A2M:Biotin
0.09% Sodium Azide (NaN3)
1% Bovine Serum Albumin
Purified IgG conjugated to Biotin - liquid
Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended.
A2M levels dramatically decrease as humans age, a process which has been hypothesized to facilitate tumor development. In naked mole rats, a species with pronounced resistance to cancer, A2M has been shown to inhibit tumor growth regardless of tumor origin (Kurz et al. 2017).
The biotinylated Mouse anti Human A2M antibody, clone M5 can be used as a detection antibody in a sandwich ELISA with the purified Mouse anti Human A2M antibody, clone M17 as the capture antibody.
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
Alpha-2-macroglobulin is a protease inhibitor and cytokine transporter. It inhibits many proteases, including trypsin, thrombin and collagenase. A2M is implicated in Alzheimer disease (AD) due to its ability to mediate the clearance and degradation of A-beta, the major component of beta-amyloid deposits. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Uniprot Description
A2M: Is able to inhibit all four classes of proteinases by a unique 'trapping' mechanism. This protein has a peptide stretch, called the 'bait region' which contains specific cleavage sites for different proteinases. When a proteinase cleaves the bait region, a conformational change is induced in the protein which traps the proteinase. The entrapped enzyme remains active against low molecular weight substrates (activity against high molecular weight substrates is greatly reduced). Following cleavage in the bait region a thioester bond is hydrolyzed and mediates the covalent binding of the protein to the proteinase. Belongs to the protease inhibitor I39 (alpha-2- macroglobulin) family.

Product Notes
The A2M a2m (Catalog #AAA226070) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Mouse anti Human A2M:Biotin reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's A2M can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA). ELISA: 1.0ug/ml. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the A2M a2m for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "A2M, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
