Monkey Epoxide hydrolase 1 (EPHX1) ELISA Kit | EPHX1 elisa kit
Monkey Epoxide hydrolase 1 (EPHX1) ELISA Kit
Principle of the Assay: EPB41L5 ELISA kit applies the competitive enzyme immunoassay technique utilizing an anti-EPB41L5 antibody and an EPB41L5-HRP conjugate. The assay sample and buffer are incubated together with EPB41L5-HRP conjugate in pre-coated plate for one hour. After the incubation period, the wells are decanted and washed five times. The wells are then incubated with a substrate for HRP enzyme. The product of the enzyme-substrate reaction forms a blue colored complex. Finally, a stop solution is added to stop the reaction, which will then turn the solution yellow. The intensity of color is measured spectrophotometrically at 450nm in a microplate reader. The intensity of the color is inversely proportional to the EPB41L5 concentration since EPB41L5 from samples and EPB41L5-HRP conjugate compete for the anti-EPB41L5 antibody binding site. Since the number of sites is limited, as more sites are occupied by EPB41L5 from the sample, fewer sites are left to bind EPB41L5-HRP conjugate. A standard curve is plotted relating the intensity of the color (O.D.) to the concentration of standards. The EPB41L5 concentration in each sample is interpolated from this standard curve.
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
Epoxide hydrolase is a critical biotransformation enzyme that converts epoxides from the degradation of aromatic compounds to trans-dihydrodiols which can be conjugated and excreted from the body. Epoxide hydrolase functions in both the activation and detoxification of epoxides. Mutations in this gene cause preeclampsia, epoxide hydrolase deficiency or increased epoxide hydrolase activity. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding the same protein have been found for this gene.[provided by RefSeq, Dec 2008]
Uniprot Description
Ephx1: Biotransformation enzyme that catalyzes the hydrolysis of arene and aliphatic epoxides to less reactive and more water soluble dihydrodiols by the trans addition of water. In some populations, the high activity haplotype tyr113/his139 is overrepresented among women suffering from pregnancy-induced hypertension (pre-eclampsia) when compared with healthy controls. Defects in EPHX1 are a cause of familial hypercholanemia (FHCA). FHCA is a disorder characterized by elevated serum bile acid concentrations, itching, and fat malabsorption. Belongs to the peptidase S33 family.

Product Notes
The Monkey EPHX1 ephx1 (Catalog #AAA7221727) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA7221727 ELISA Kit recognizes Monkey EPHX1. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Epoxide hydrolase 1 (EPHX1), ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
