Background/Introduction: The Fluorometric Cell-Based ELISA Kit allows for the detection of various target proteins and the effects that certain stimulation conditions have on target protein expression in different cell lines. Qualitative determination of target protein concentration is achieved by an indirect ELISA format. In essence, the target protein is captured by target-specific primary (1 degree) antibodies while Dye 1-conjugated and Dye 2-conjugated secondary (2 degree) antibodies bind the Fc region of the 1 degree antibody. Through this binding, the dye conjugated to the 2 degree antibody can emit light at a certain wavelength given proper excitation, hence allowing for a fluorometric detection method. A monoclonal antibody specific for human GAPDH is included to serve as an internal positive control in normalizing the target RFU values. If a phosphorylated target is being detected, an antibody against the non-phosphorylated counterpart will be provided for normalization purposes. The RFU values obtained for the non-phosphorylated target can be used to normalize the RFU value for the phosphorylated target. The Synuclein-alpha (Phospho-Ser129) Cell-Based ELISA Kit is a convenient, lysate-free, high throughput and sensitive assay kit that can monitor Synuclein-alpha protein phosphorylation and expression profile in cells. The kit can be used for measuring the relative amounts of phosphorylated Synuclein-alpha in cultured cells as well as screening for the effects that various treatments, inhibitors (ie. siRNA or chemicals), or activators have on Synuclein-alpha phosphorylation.

NCBI Description

Myosin, a structural component of muscle, consists of two heavy chains and four light chains. The protein encoded by this gene is a myosin light chain that may regulate muscle contraction by modulating the ATPase activity of myosin heads. The encoded protein binds calcium and is activated by myosin light chain kinase. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

MRLC1: Myosin regulatory subunit that plays an important role in regulation of both smooth muscle and nonmuscle cell contractile activity via its phosphorylation. Implicated in cytokinesis, receptor capping, and cell locomotion. Myosin is an hexamer of 2 heavy chains and 4 light chains. Smooth muscle tissues and in some, but not all, nonmuscle cells. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Contractile; Motility/polarity/chemotaxis

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 20q11.23

Cellular Component: cytosol; muscle myosin complex

Molecular Function: calcium ion binding; structural constituent of muscle

Biological Process: muscle contraction; regulation of megakaryocyte differentiation; regulation of muscle contraction

Product Notes

The Human, Mouse, Rat MLRN myl9 (Catalog #AAA9501767) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA9501767 ELISA Kit recognizes Human, Mouse, Rat MLRN. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Myosin regulatory light chain 2, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
