Uniprot Description

CTK: a non-receptor tyrosine kinase. Could play a significant role in the signal transduction of hematopoietic cells. May regulate tyrosine kinase activity of SRC-family members in brain by specifically phosphorylating their C-terminal regulatory tyrosine residue which acts as a negative regulatory site. It may play an inhibitory role in the control of T-cell proliferation. Expressed in cancerous but not normal breast tissue; interacts with activated ERBB2 receptor and is likely to inhibit proliferation.

Protein type: EC 2.7.10.2; Protein kinase, TK; Kinase, protein; Protein kinase, tyrosine (non-receptor); TK group; Csk family

Cellular Component: extrinsic to internal side of plasma membrane; membrane; cytoplasm

Molecular Function: transferase activity; protein-tyrosine kinase activity; transferase activity, transferring phosphorus-containing groups; nucleotide binding; non-membrane spanning protein tyrosine kinase activity; kinase activity; ATP binding; receptor binding; protein kinase activity

Biological Process: cell migration; innate immune response; morphogenesis of an epithelium; cell differentiation; protein amino acid phosphorylation; phosphorylation; transmembrane receptor protein tyrosine kinase signaling pathway; regulation of cell proliferation

Product Notes

The MATK matk (Catalog #AAA2122985) is a Recombinant Protein produced from E Coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The immunogen sequence is Val24~Ala237. AAA Biotech's Megakaryocyte Associated Tyrosine Kinase can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Positive Control, Immunogen, SDS-PAGE, Western Blot (WB). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the MATK matk for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Megakaryocyte Associated Tyrosine Kinase, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
