NCBI Description

This gene encodes the fatty acid binding protein found in liver. Fatty acid binding proteins are a family of small, highly conserved, cytoplasmic proteins that bind long-chain fatty acids and other hydrophobic ligands. This protein and FABP6 (the ileal fatty acid binding protein) are also able to bind bile acids. It is thought that FABPs roles include fatty acid uptake, transport, and metabolism. [provided by RefSeq, Mar 2011]

Uniprot Description

FABP1: Binds free fatty acids and their coenzyme A derivatives, bilirubin, and some other small molecules in the cytoplasm. May be involved in intracellular lipid transport. Belongs to the calycin superfamily. Fatty-acid binding protein (FABP) family.

Product Notes

The Fish L-FABP fabp1 (Catalog #AAA025950) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA025950 ELISA Kit recognizes Fish L-FABP. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Liver Fatty Acid Binding Protein, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
