Protein Length
The recombinant human CXCL10 consists of 78 amino acids and predicts a molecular mass of 8.8 KDa. It migrates as an approximately 9 KDa band in SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions.
Usage Notes
Always centrifuge tubes before opening. It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized Human CXCL10 protein in sterile ddH2O not less than 100ug/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions.
Preparation and Storage
Item should be stored desiccated below -20 degree C. Upon reconstitution, the protein should be stored at 4 degree C between 2-7 days and for future use below -20 degree C. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA). Please prevent freeze-thaw cycles.

Related Product Information for CXCL10 recombinant protein
CXCL10, also known as crg-2, is a chemokine of the CXC subfamily and ligand for the receptor CXCR3. CXC chemokines are particularly significant for leukocyte infiltration in inflammatory diseases. CXCL10 has a three-dimensional crystal structure. Its signaling is mediated by the g protein-coupled receptor CXCR3, which is expressed on activated T cells and plays an important role in directing the migration of T cells, especially during Th1 responses. Binding of CXCL10 to CXCR3 results in pleiotropic effects, including stimulation of monocytes, natural killer and T-cell migration, and modulation of adhesion molecule expression. It is chemotactic for monocytes and T-lymphocytes. CXCL10 can be secreted by several cell types in response to IFN-gamma. Baseline pre-treatment plasma levels of CXCL10 are elevated in patients chronically infected with hepatitis C virus (HCV) of genotypes 1 or 4 who do not achieve a sustained viral response (SVR) after completion of antiviral therapy.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the interleukin 1 cytokine family. This cytokine was shown to specifically inhibit the activation of NF-kappaB induced by interleukin 1 family, member 6 (IL1F6). This gene and eight other interleukin 1 family genes form a cytokine gene cluster on chromosome 2. Two alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding the same protein have been reported. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

IL1F5: Is a highly and a specific antagonist of the IL-1 receptor-related protein 2-mediated response to interleukin 1 family member 9 (IL1F9). Could constitute part of an independent signaling system analogous to interleukin-1 alpha (IL-1A), beta (IL-1B) receptor agonist and interleukin-1 receptor type I (IL- 1R1), that is present in epithelial barriers and takes part in local inflammatory response. Defects in IL36RN are the cause of psoriasis generalized pustular (PSORP). PSORP is a life-threatening disease defined by repeated flares of sudden onset consisting of diffuse erythematous skin eruption characterized by rapid coverage with pustules, high-grade fever, asthenia, marked leukocytosis, and elevated serum levels of C-reactive protein. Belongs to the IL-1 family.

Protein type: Cytokine

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 2q14

Cellular Component: extracellular space

Molecular Function: cytokine activity; interleukin-1 receptor binding; protein binding

Biological Process: antifungal humoral response; negative regulation of cytokine and chemokine mediated signaling pathway; negative regulation of interleukin-17 production

Disease: Psoriasis 14, Pustular

Product Notes

The CXCL10 il36rn (Catalog #AAA9718691) is a Recombinant Protein produced from E Coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The amino acid sequence is listed below: Amino acid sequence derived from mature form of human CXCL10 (Q9UBH0) (Val22-Pro 98) was expressed, with a N-terminal Met. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CXCL10, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
