Usage Notes
Always centrifuge tubes before opening. It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized Human IL-1alpha protein using the buffer we provided not less than 100ug/mL, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions.
Preparation and Storage
Lyophilized Human IL1alpha protein protein protein product should be stored desiccated below -18 degree C. Upon reconstitution, the protein should be stored at 4 degree C between 2-7 days and for future use below -18 degree C. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA). Please prevent freeze-thaw cycles.

Related Product Information for IL1-alpha/IL1A recombinant protein
Description: Recombinant Mouse IL1-alpha/IL1A protein expressed in E.coli.
Background: IL-1alpha a member of the interleukin 1 cytokine family. Interleukin 1 (IL-1) is a name that designates two proteins, IL-1alpha and IL-1 beta, which are the products of distinct genes, but which show approximately 25% amino acid sequence identity and which recognize the same cell surface receptors. IL-1alpha stimulates thymocyte proliferation by inducing IL-2 release, B-cell maturation and proliferation, and fibroblast growth factor activity.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the interleukin 1 cytokine family. This cytokine is a pleiotropic cytokine involved in various immune responses, inflammatory processes, and hematopoiesis. This cytokine is produced by monocytes and macrophages as a proprotein, which is proteolytically processed and released in response to cell injury, and thus induces apoptosis. This gene and eight other interleukin 1 family genes form a cytokine gene cluster on chromosome 2. It has been suggested that the polymorphism of these genes is associated with rheumatoid arthritis and Alzheimer's disease. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

IL1A: Produced by activated macrophages, IL-1 stimulates thymocyte proliferation by inducing IL-2 release, B-cell maturation and proliferation, and fibroblast growth factor activity. IL-1 proteins are involved in the inflammatory response, being identified as endogenous pyrogens, and are reported to stimulate the release of prostaglandin and collagenase from synovial cells. Belongs to the IL-1 family.

Product Notes

The IL1-alpha/IL1A il1a (Catalog #AAA9719011) is a Recombinant Protein produced from E Coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The amino acid sequence is listed below: Ser113-Ala 271. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "IL1-alpha/IL1A, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
