Related Product Information for Il 24 elisa kit
Principle of the Assay: IL24 ELISA kit applies the quantitative sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique. The microtiter plate has been pre-coated with a monoclonal antibody specific for IL24 Standards or samples are then added to the microtiter plate wells and IL24 if present, will bind to the antibody pre-coated wells. In order to quantitatively determine the amount of IL24 present in the sample, a standardized preparation of horseradish peroxidase (HRP) -conjugated polyclonal antibody, specific for IL24 are added to each well to "sandwich" the IL24 immobilized on the plate. The microtiter plate undergoes incubation, and then the wells are thoroughly washed to remove all unbound components. Next, substrate solutions are added to each well. The enzyme (HRP) and substrate are allowed to react over a short incubation period. Only those wells that contain IL24 and enzyme-conjugated antibody will exhibit a change in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by addition of a sulphuric acid solution and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm. A standard curve is plotted relating the intensity of the color (O.D.) to the concentration of standards. The IL24 concentration in each sample is interpolated from this standard curve.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the IL10 family of cytokines. It was identified as a gene induced during terminal differentiation in melanoma cells. The protein encoded by this gene can induce apoptosis selectively in various cancer cells. Overexpression of this gene leads to elevated expression of several GADD family genes, which correlates with the induction of apoptosis. The phosphorylation of mitogen-activated protein kinase 14 (MAPK7/P38), and heat shock 27kDa protein 1 (HSPB2/HSP27) are found to be induced by this gene in melanoma cells, but not in normal immortal melanocytes. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been reported. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

IL24: Has antiproliferative properties on melanoma cells and may contribute to terminal cell differentiation. Belongs to the IL-10 family. 4 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes

The Human Il 24 il24 (Catalog #AAA740963) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA740963 ELISA Kit recognizes Human Il 24. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Interleukin 24, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
