Related Product Information for IFNAR2 elisa kit
Principle of the Assay: This assay employs the quantitative sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique. Antibody specific for IFNAR2 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and any IFNAR2 present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for IFNAR2 is added to the wells. After washing, avidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of IFNAR2 bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a type I membrane protein that forms one of the two chains of a receptor for interferons alpha and beta. Binding and activation of the receptor stimulates Janus protein kinases, which in turn phosphorylate several proteins, including STAT1 and STAT2. Multiple transcript variants encoding at least two different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

IFNAR2: Associates with IFNAR1 to form the type I interferon receptor. Receptor for interferons alpha and beta. Involved in IFN-mediated STAT1, STAT2 and STAT3 activation. Isoform 1 and isoform 2 are directly involved in signal transduction due to their association with the TYR kinase, JAK1. Isoform 3 is a potent inhibitor of type I IFN receptor activity. Belongs to the type II cytokine receptor family. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes

The Human IFNAR2 ifnar2 (Catalog #AAA906140) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA906140 ELISA Kit recognizes Human IFNAR2. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "interferon (alpha, beta and omega) receptor 2, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
