Related Product Information for IFNAR1 recombinant protein
Component of the receptor for type I interferons, including interferons alpha, IFNB1 and IFNW1. Functions in general as heterodimer with IFNAR2. Type I interferon binding activates the JAK-STAT signaling cascade, and triggers tyrosine phosphorylation of a number of proteins including JAKs, TYK2, STAT proteins and the IFNR alpha- and beta-subunits themselves. Can form an active IFNB1 receptor by itself and activate a signaling cascade that does not involve activation of the JAK-STAT pathway.

Uniprot Description

IFNAR1: receptor for interferons alpha and beta. Belongs to the type II cytokine family of receptors. Binding to type I IFNs triggers tyrosine phosphorylation of a number of proteins including JAKs, TYK2, STAT proteins and IFNR alpha- and beta-subunits themselves. Tyk2 tyrosine kinase is essential for stable cell surface expression of IFNAR1. Present in all tissues and even on the surface of most IFN-resistant cells.

Protein type: Membrane protein, integral; Receptor, cytokine

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 16 C3.3|16 52.98 cM

Cellular Component: integral to plasma membrane

Molecular Function: interferon receptor activity; interferon-alpha/beta binding; interferon-alpha/beta receptor activity

Biological Process: defense response to virus; interferon type I biosynthetic process; positive regulation of interferon-beta production; positive regulation of interferon-gamma production; positive regulation of interleukin-1 beta secretion; positive regulation of transcription, DNA-dependent; regulation of peptidyl-tyrosine phosphorylation; response to lipopolysaccharide; T cell activation

Product Notes

The IFNAR1 ifnar1 (Catalog #AAA2569312) is a Recombinant Protein produced from E Coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The amino acid sequence is listed below: Glu27-Cyc2 84. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "IFNAR1 Protein, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
