Related Product Information for anti-VR1 antibody
VR1 (vanilloid receptor 1) is a channel activated by capsaicin, the pungent ingredient in hot peppers. It was isolated from sensory neurons. Sequence analysis suggests that VR1 has six transmembrane domains and intracellular N- and C-termini. It shares structural similarities with the family of putative store-operated calcium channels. VR1 is expressed by nociceptive sensory neurons. It is activated by noxious heat and is thought to function as transducer of noxious thermal stimuli.

Uniprot Description

TRPV1: a receptor for capsaicin and a non-selective cation channel that is structurally related to members of the TRP family of ion channels. Activated by increases in temperature in the noxious range, suggesting that it functions as a transducer of painful thermal stimuli in vivo.

Product Notes

The VR1 trpv1 (Catalog #AAA555357) is an Antibody and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The VR1- C-Terminus Antiserum, guinea pig reacts with Human, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's VR1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistochemistry (IHC). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the VR1 trpv1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "VR1, Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
