Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.
Store at 2-8°C for one month.
Aliquot and store at -80°C for 12 months.

Stability Test:
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37°C for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate is less than 5% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

Related Product Information for CRP active protein
The binding activity of CRP with RPL23A.C Reactive Protein (CRP) is an annular (ring-shaped), pentameric protein, a member of the pentraxin family of proteins. It is an acute-phase protein of hepatic origin that increases following interleukin-6 secretion by macrophages and T cells. Its physiological role is to bind to lysophosphatidylcholine expressed on the surface of dead or dying cells (and some types of bacteria) in order to activate the complement system via C1q. CRP is synthesized by the liver in response to factors released by macrophages and fat cells (adipocytes). Besides, Ribosomal Protein L23A (RPL23A) has been identified as an interactor of CRP, thus a binding ELISA assay was conducted to detect the interaction of recombinant human CRP and recombinant human RPL23A. Briefly, CRP were diluted serially in PBS, with 0.01% BSA (pH 7.4). Duplicate samples of 100muL were then transferred to RPL23A-coated microtiter wells and incubated for 2h at 37 degree C. Wells were washed with PBST and incubated for 1h with anti-CRP pAb, then aspirated and washed 3 times. After incubation with HRP labelled secondary antibody, wells were aspirated and washed 3 times. With the addition of substrate solution, wells were incubated 15-25 minutes at 37 degree C. Finally, add 50uL stop solution to the wells and read at 450nm immediately. The binding activity of CRP and RPL23A was shown in Figure 1, and this effect was in a dose dependent manner.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the pentaxin family. It is involved in several host defense related functions based on its ability to recognize foreign pathogens and damaged cells of the host and to initiate their elimination by interacting with humoral and cellular effector systems in the blood. Consequently, the level of this protein in plasma increases greatly during acute phase response to tissue injury, infection, or other inflammatory stimuli. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2009]

Uniprot Description

CRP: Displays several functions associated with host defense: it promotes agglutination, bacterial capsular swelling, phagocytosis and complement fixation through its calcium-dependent binding to phosphorylcholine. Can interact with DNA and histones and may scavenge nuclear material released from damaged circulating cells. Belongs to the pentaxin family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Secreted, signal peptide; Secreted

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 1q23.2

Cellular Component: extracellular space; growth cone; extracellular region; filopodium

Molecular Function: choline binding; protein binding; protein homodimerization activity; low-density lipoprotein receptor binding; complement component C1q binding; cholesterol binding; low-density lipoprotein binding; virion binding; calcium ion binding

Biological Process: protein polymerization; defense response to Gram-positive bacterium; response to ethanol; negative regulation of vasodilation; wound healing; positive regulation of superoxide release; response to lead ion; response to hypoxia; acute-phase response; opsonization; inflammatory response; complement activation, classical pathway; aging

Product Notes

The CRP crp (Catalog #AAA2105119) is an Active Protein produced from Human (Plasma) and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Active C Reactive Protein (CRP) reacts with Homo sapiens (Human) and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's C ReProtein (CRP) can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Positive Control; Immunogen; SDS-PAGE; Western Blot (WB). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CRP crp for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "C ReProtein (CRP), Active Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
