Human Vitamin D Binding Protein ELISA Kit | GC elisa kit
Human Vitamin D Binding Protein (GC Globulin) ELISA Kit
Principle of the Assay: The principle of the double antibody sandwich ELISA is represented in Figure 1. In this assay the Vitamin D binding protein (VDBP) present in samples reacts with the anti-VDBP antibodies, which have been adsorbed to the surface of polystyrene microtitre wells. After the removal of unbound proteins by washing, anti-VDBP antibodies conjugated with horseradish peroxidase (HRP) are added. These enzyme-labeled antibodies form complexes with the previously bound VDBP. Following another washing step, the enzyme bound to the immunosorbent is assayed by the addition of a chromogenic substrate, 3,3',5,5'-tetramethylbenzidine (TMB). The quantity of bound enzyme varies directly with the concentration of VDBP in the sample tested; thus, the absorbance, at 450 nm, is a measure of the concentration of VDBP in the test sample. The quantity of VDBP in the test sample can be interpolated from the standard curve constructed from the standards, and corrected for sample dilution.
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the albumin gene family. It is a multifunctional protein found in plasma, ascitic fluid, cerebrospinal fluid and on the surface of many cell types. It binds to vitamin D and its plasma metabolites and transports them to target tissues. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.[provided by RefSeq]
Uniprot Description
GC: Multifunctional protein found in plasma, ascitic fluid, cerebrospinal fluid, and urine and on the surface of many cell types. In plasma, it carries the vitamin D sterols and prevents polymerization of actin by binding its monomers. DBP associates with membrane-bound immunoglobulin on the surface of B-lymphocytes and with IgG Fc receptor on the membranes of T-lymphocytes. Belongs to the ALB/AFP/VDB family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes
The Human GC gc (Catalog #AAA564062) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA564062 ELISA Kit recognizes Human GC. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Vitamin D Binding Protein, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
