Human Urokinase-type Plasminogen Activator Receptor, PLAUR/uPAR ELISA Kit | PLAUR/uPAR elisa kit
Human Urokinase-type Plasminogen Activator Receptor, PLAUR/uPAR ELISA Kit
Principles of the Assay: This kit is an Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA). The plate has been pre-coated with human PLAUR/uPAR antibody. PLAUR/uPAR present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated human PLAUR/uPAR Antibody is added and binds to PLAUR/uPAR in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated PLAUR/uPAR antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of human PLAUR/uPAR. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene encodes the receptor for urokinase plasminogen activator and, given its role in localizing and promoting plasmin formation, likely influences many normal and pathological processes related to cell-surface plasminogen activation and localized degradation of the extracellular matrix. It binds both the proprotein and mature forms of urokinase plasminogen activator and permits the activation of the receptor-bound pro-enzyme by plasmin. The protein lacks transmembrane or cytoplasmic domains and may be anchored to the plasma membrane by a glycosyl-phosphatidylinositol (GPI) moiety following cleavage of the nascent polypeptide near its carboxy-terminus. However, a soluble protein is also produced in some cell types. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms. The proprotein experiences several post-translational cleavage reactions that have not yet been fully defined. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Uniprot Description
Acts as a receptor for urokinase plasminogen activator. Plays a role in localizing and promoting plasmin formation. Mediates the proteolysis-independent signal transduction activation effects of U-PA. It is subject to negative-feedback regulation by U-PA which cleaves it into an inactive form.

Product Notes
The Human PLAUR/uPAR plaur (Catalog #AAA165055) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA165055 ELISA Kit recognizes Human PLAUR/uPAR. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Urokinase-type Plasminogen Activator Receptor, PLAUR/uPAR, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
