NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene encodes a member of the tyrosine protein kinase family. The encoded protein plays a critical role in angiogenesis and blood vessel stability by inhibiting angiopoietin 1 signaling through the endothelial receptor tyrosine kinase Tie2. Ectodomain cleavage of the encoded protein relieves inhibition of Tie2 and is mediated by multiple factors including vascular endothelial growth factor. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding multiple isoforms have been observed for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Nov 2011]
Uniprot Description
TIE1: a transmembrane tyrosine-protein kinase that modulates TEK/TIE2 activity and contribute to the regulation of angiogenesis. An endothelial cell specific ligand-receptor necessary for lymphatic development, angiogenesis, vascular remodelling, permeability and inflammation. Belongs to the protein kinase superfamily. Tyr protein kinase family. Tie subfamily. Three isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes
The Human Tie-1 tie1 (Catalog #AAA9502082) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA9502082 ELISA Kit recognizes Human Tie-1. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Tie-1, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
