Human Small ubiquitin related modifier 2 (SUMO2) ELISA Kit
Principle of the Assay: SUMO2 ELISA kit applies the competitive enzyme immunoassay technique utilizing a Polyclonal anti-SUMO2 antibody and an SUMO2-HRP conjugate. The assay sample and buffer are incubated together with SUMO2-HRP conjugate in pre-coated plate for one hour. After the incubation period, the wells are decanted and washed five times. The wells are then incubated with a substrate for HRP enzyme. The product of the enzyme-substrate reaction forms a blue colored complex. Finally, a stop solution is added to stop the reaction, which will then turn the solution yellow. The intensity of color is measured spectrophotometrically at 450nm in a microplate reader. The intensity of the color is inversely proportional to the SUMO2 concentration since SUMO2 from samples and SUMO2-HRP conjugate compete for the anti-SUMO2 antibody binding site. Since the number of sites is limited, as more sites are occupied by SUMO2 from the sample, fewer sites are left to bind SUMO2-HRP conjugate. A standard curve is plotted relating the intensity of the color (O.D.) to the concentration of standards. The SUMO2 concentration in each sample is interpolated from this standard curve.

Uniprot Description
SUMO2: Ubiquitin-like protein that can be covalently attached to proteins as a monomer or as a lysine-linked polymer. Covalent attachment via an isopeptide bond to its substrates requires prior activation by the E1 complex SAE1-SAE2 and linkage to the E2 enzyme UBE2I, and can be promoted by an E3 ligase such as PIAS1-4, RANBP2 or CBX4. This post-translational modification on lysine residues of proteins plays a crucial role in a number of cellular processes such as nuclear transport, DNA replication and repair, mitosis and signal transduction. Polymeric SUMO2 chains are also susceptible to polyubiquitination which functions as a signal for proteasomal degradation of modified proteins. Homotrimer (Potential). Crystal packing analysis suggests a possible trimeric assembly, of which the biological significance remains to be determined. Interacts with SAE2 and UBE2I. Covalently attached to a number of proteins. Interacts with PELP1. Interacts with USP25; the interaction sumoylates USP25. Broadly expressed. Belongs to the ubiquitin family. SUMO subfamily. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes
The Human SUMO2 sumo2 (Catalog #AAA7231157) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA7231157 ELISA Kit recognizes Human SUMO2. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Small ubiquitin related modifier 2 (SUMO2), ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
