Preparation and Storage
The stability of kit is determined by the loss rate of activity. The loss rate of this kit is less than 5% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
To minimize extra influence on the performance, operation procedures and lab conditions, especially room temperature, air humidity, incubator temperature should be strictly controlled. It is also strongly suggested that the whole assay is performed by the same operator from the beginning to the end.

Related Product Information for PKBb elisa kit
The test principle applied in this kit is Sandwich enzyme immunoassay. The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to Protein Kinase B Beta (PKBb). Standards or samples are then added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells with a biotin-conjugated antibody specific to Protein Kinase B Beta (PKBb). Next, Avidin conjugated to Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to each microplate well and incubated. After TMB substrate solution is added, only those wells that contain Protein Kinase B Beta (PKBb), biotin-conjugated antibody and enzyme-conjugated Avidin will exhibit a change in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of sulphuric acid solution and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450nm ± 10nm. The concentration of Protein Kinase B Beta (PKBb) in the samples is then determined by comparing the O.D. of the samples to the standard curve.

NCBI Description

may be involved in phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase (PI3-K) mediated signaling [RGD, Feb 2006]

Uniprot Description

Akt2: an AGC kinase. Plays critical roles in glucose metabolism and the development or maintenance of proper adipose tissue and islet mass for which other Akt/PKB isoforms are unable to fully compensate. Amplified and overexpressed in human ovarian carcinoma cell lines and amplified in some primary ovarian and pancreatic tumors. Antisense blocks invasiveness in xenografts. Expressed in several insulin-responsive tissues, and one case of Type II diabetes has been associated with a likely LOF point mutation. Mouse mutants have defects in insulin response.

Product Notes

The Human PKBb akt2 (Catalog #AAA2019024) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA2019024 ELISA Kit recognizes Human PKBb. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Protein Kinase B Beta (PKBb), ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
