Related Product Information for HCN2 elisa kit
Intended Uses: This sandwich kit is for the accurate quantitative detection of human Potassium Voltage-gated Channel Subfamily KQT Member 1 (also known as KCNQ1) in serum, plasma, cell culture supernates, cell lysates, tissue homogenates.

Principle of the Assay: This kit is an Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA). The plate has been pre-coated with human KCNQ1 antibody. KCNQ1 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated human KCNQ1 Antibody is added and binds to KCNQ1 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated KCNQ1 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of human KCNQ1. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a hyperpolarization-activated cation channel involved in the generation of native pacemaker activity in the heart and in the brain. The encoded protein is activated by cAMP and can produce a fast, large current. Defects in this gene were noted as a possible cause of some forms of epilepsy. [provided by RefSeq, Jan 2017]

Uniprot Description

HCN2: Hyperpolarization-activated ion channel exhibiting weak selectivity for potassium over sodium ions. Contributes to the native pacemaker currents in heart (If) and in neurons (Ih). Produces a large instantaneous current. Activated by cAMP. Modulated by intracellular chloride ions and pH; acidic pH shifts the activation to more negative voltages. Belongs to the potassium channel HCN family.

Protein type: Membrane protein, multi-pass; Channel, cation; Membrane protein, integral

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 19p13.3

Cellular Component: voltage-gated potassium channel complex; integral to plasma membrane; plasma membrane

Molecular Function: identical protein binding; voltage-gated potassium channel activity; intracellular cAMP activated cation channel activity; voltage-gated sodium channel activity; cAMP binding

Biological Process: synaptic transmission; regulation of membrane potential; cell-cell signaling

Product Notes

The Human HCN2 hcn2 (Catalog #AAA1603225) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA1603225 ELISA Kit recognizes Human HCN2. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Potassium, Sodium Hyperpolarization-Activated Cyclic Nucleotide-Gated Channel 2 (HCN2), ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
