Usage Notes
* Do not mix components from different kit lots or use reagents beyond the kit expiration date.
* Allow all reagents to warm to room temperature for at least 30 minutes before opening.
* Pre-rinse the pipet tip with reagent, use fresh pipet tips for each sample, standard and reagent to avoid contamination.
* Unused wells must be kept desiccated at 4 degree C in the sealed bag provided.
* Mix Thoroughly is very important for the result. It is recommended using low frequency oscillator or slight hand shaking every 10 minutes.
* It is recommended that all samples and standards be assayed in duplicate or triplicate.
Preparation and Storage
Store at 2-8 degree C.

Related Product Information for PVRL1 elisa kit
Description: This Human Poliovirus receptor-related protein 1 (PVRL1) ELISA Kit employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate PVRL1 in samples. An antibody specific for PVRL1 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and any PVRL1 present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for PVRL1 is added to the wells. After washing, Streptavidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of PVRL1 bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

Background: PVRL1, or nectin-1, belongs to the nectin subfamily of immunoglobulin-like adhesion molecules that participate in Ca(2+)-independent cell-cell adhesion. Nectins bind to the actin cytoskeleton through the adaptor protein afadin (MLLT4) and are key components of adherens junctions (summary by Barron et al. (2008)). Members of the immunoglobin (Ig) superfamily have been shown to serve as receptors for various viruses. The human poliovirus receptor (PVR) is an integral membrane protein with one V-like extracellular Ig domain, 2 C-like extracellular Ig domains, a transmembrane region, and an intracytoplasmic region. Lopez et al. (1995) isolated a cDNA for a poliovirus receptor related gene, which they symbolized PRR.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes an adhesion protein that plays a role in the organization of adherens junctions and tight junctions in epithelial and endothelial cells. The protein is a calcium(2+)-independent cell-cell adhesion molecule that belongs to the immunoglobulin superfamily and has 3 extracellular immunoglobulin-like loops, a single transmembrane domain (in some isoforms), and a cytoplasmic region. This protein acts as a receptor for glycoprotein D (gD) of herpes simplex viruses 1 and 2 (HSV-1, HSV-2), and pseudorabies virus (PRV) and mediates viral entry into epithelial and neuronal cells. Mutations in this gene cause cleft lip and palate/ectodermal dysplasia 1 syndrome (CLPED1) as well as non-syndromic cleft lip with or without cleft palate (CL/P). Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding proteins with distinct C-termini. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2009]

Product Notes

The Human PVRL1 pvrl1 (Catalog #AAA9714699) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA9714699 ELISA Kit recognizes Human PVRL1. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Poliovirus Receptor-Related Protein 1 (PVRL1), ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
