Intended Uses: This sandwich kit is for the accurate quantitative detection of human Nuclear Autoantigenic Sperm Protein (also known as NASP) in serum, plasma, cell culture supernates, cell lysates, tissue homogenates.
Principles of the Assay: This kit is an Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA). The plate has been pre-coated with human NASP antibody. NASP present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated human NASP Antibody is added and binds to NASP in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated NASP antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of human NASP. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Required for DNA replication, normal cell cycle progression and cell proliferation. Forms a cytoplasmic complex with HSP90 and linker H1 histones and stimulates HSP90 ATPase activity. NASP and H1 histone are subsequently released from the complex and translocate to the nucleus where the histone is released for binding to DNA.
