Preparation and Storage
The stability of kit is determined by the loss rate of activity. The loss rate of this kit is less than 5% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
To minimize extra influence on the performance, operation procedures and lab conditions, especially room temperature, air humidity, incubator temperature should be strictly controlled. It is also strongly suggested that the whole assay is performed by the same operator from the beginning to the end.

Related Product Information for NT elisa kit
This assay employs the competitive inhibition enzyme immunoassay technique. A monoclonal antibody specific to High Sensitive Neurotensin (NT) has been pre-coated onto a microplate. A competitive inhibition reaction is launched between biotin labeled High Sensitive Neurotensin (NT) and unlabeled High Sensitive Neurotensin (NT) (Standards or samples) with the pre-coated antibody specific to High Sensitive Neurotensin (NT). After incubation the unbound conjugate is washed off. Next, avidin conjugated to Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to each microplate well and incubated. The amount of bound HRP conjugate is reverse proportional to the concentration of High Sensitive Neurotensin (NT) in the sample. After addition of the substrate solution, the intensity of color developed is reverse proportional to the concentration of High Sensitive Neurotensin (NT) in the sample.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a common precursor for two peptides, neuromedin N and neurotensin. Neurotensin is a secreted tridecapeptide, which is widely distributed throughout the central nervous system, and may function as a neurotransmitter or a neuromodulator. It may be involved in dopamine-associated pathophysiological events, in the maintenance of gut structure and function, and in the regulation of fat metabolism. Neurotensin also exhibits antimicrobial activity against bacteria and fungi. Tissue-specific processing may lead to the formation in some tissues of larger forms of neuromedin N and neurotensin. The large forms may represent more stable peptides that are also biologically active. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2014]

Uniprot Description

NTS: Neurotensin may play an endocrine or paracrine role in the regulation of fat metabolism. It causes contraction of smooth muscle. Belongs to the neurotensin family.

Protein type: Secreted; Secreted, signal peptide

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 12q21.31

Product Notes

The Human NT nts (Catalog #AAA2087051) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA2087051 ELISA Kit recognizes Human NT. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Neurotensin (NT), ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
