Usage Notes
* Do not mix components from different kit lots or use reagents beyond the kit expiration date.
* Allow all reagents to warm to room temperature for at least 30 minutes before opening.
* Pre-rinse the pipet tip with reagent, use fresh pipet tips for each sample, standard and reagent to avoid contamination.
* Unused wells must be kept desiccated at 4 degree C in the sealed bag provided.
* Mix Thoroughly is very important for the result. It is recommended using low frequency oscillator or slight hand shaking every 10 minutes.
* It is recommended that all samples and standards be assayed in duplicate or triplicate.
Preparation and Storage
Store at 2-8 degree C.

Related Product Information for MSRB2/CBS-1/MSRB/CGI-131 elisa kit
Description: This Human Methionine-R-sulfoxide reductase B2, mitochondrial (MSRB2/CBS-1/MSRB/CGI-131) ELISA Kit employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate MSRB2 in samples. An antibody specific for MSRB2 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and any MSRB2 present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for MSRB2 is added to the wells. After washing, Streptavidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of MSRB2 bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

Background: MSRB2 (Methionine Sulfoxide Reductase B2) is a Protein Coding gene. Among its related pathways are Protein repair and Metabolism of proteins. GO annotations related to this gene include transcription factor activity, sequence-specific DNA binding and peptide-methionine (R)-S-oxide reductase activity. An important paralog of this gene is MSRB3. Methionine-sulfoxide reductase that specifically reduces methionine (R)-sulfoxide back to methionine. While in many cases, methionine oxidation is the result of random oxidation following oxidative stress, methionine oxidation is also a post-translational modification that takes place on specific residue. Upon oxidative stress, may play a role in the preservation of mitochondrial integrity by decreasing the intracellular reactive oxygen species build-up through its scavenging role, hence contributing to cell survival and protein maintenance.

Uniprot Description

MSRB2: Catalyzes the reduction of free and protein-bound methionine sulfoxide to methionine. Upon oxidative stress, may play a role in the preservation of mitochondrial integrity by decreasing the intracellular reactive oxygen species build-up through its scavenging role, hence contributing to cell survival and protein maintenance. Belongs to the MsrB Met sulfoxide reductase family.

Product Notes

The Human MSRB2/CBS-1/MSRB/CGI-131 msrb2 (Catalog #AAA9715184) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA9715184 ELISA Kit recognizes Human MSRB2/CBS-1/MSRB/CGI-131. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Methionine-R-sulfoxide Reductase B2, Mitochondrial (MSRB2/CBS-1/MSRB/CGI-131), ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
