Related Product Information for M-CSF elisa kit
Principle of the Assay: The Picokine™ Human CSF1 Pre-Coated ELISA (Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay) kit is a solid phase immunoassay specially designed to measure Human CSF1 with a 96-well strip plate that is pre-coated with antibody specific for CSF1. The detection antibody is a biotinylated antibody specific for CSF1. The capture antibody is monoclonal antibody from mouse, the detection antibody is polyclonal antibody from goat. The kit contains recombinant Human CSF1 with immunogen: Expression system for standard: E.coli; Immunogen sequence: E33-S190. The kit is analytically validated with ready to use reagents. To measure Human CSF1, add standards and samples to the wells, then add the biotinylated detection antibody. Wash the wells with PBS or TBS buffer, and add Avidin-Biotin-Peroxidase Complex (ABC-HRP). Wash away the unbounded ABC-HRP with PBS or TBS buffer and add TMB. TMB is substrate to HRP and will be catalyzed to produce a blue color product, which changes into yellow after adding acidic stop solution. The density of the yellow product is linearly propotional to Human CSF1 in the sample. Read the density of the yellow product in each well using a plate reader, and benchmark the sample wells' readings against the standard curve to determine the concentration of Human CSF1 in the sample.!!Background/Introduction: M-CSF, also called CSF1, has a role in development of the placenta. Uterine CSF1 concentration is regulated by a synergistic action of estradiol and progesterone. CSF1 is produced by uterine glandular epithelial cells. It had been found that FMS, the CSF1 receptor, is expressed in placenta and choriocarcinoma cell lines1. The CSF1 gene is mapped to 1p21-p13 and contains 10 exons and 9 introns spanning 20 kb2. And there are 2 forms of CSF1, with 224 and 522 amino acids, resulting from alternative splicing3.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a cytokine that controls the production, differentiation, and function of macrophages. The active form of the protein is found extracellularly as a disulfide-linked homodimer, and is thought to be produced by proteolytic cleavage of membrane-bound precursors. The encoded protein may be involved in development of the placenta. Alternate splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2011]

Uniprot Description

M-CSF: Cytokine that plays an essential role in the regulation of survival, proliferation and differentiation of hematopoietic precursor cells, especially mononuclear phagocytes, such as macrophages and monocytes. Promotes the release of proinflammatory chemokines, and thereby plays an important role in innate immunity and in inflammatory processes. Plays an important role in the regulation of osteoclast proliferation and differentiation, the regulation of bone resorption, and is required for normal bone development. Required for normal male and female fertility. Promotes reorganization of the actin cytoskeleton, regulates formation of membrane ruffles, cell adhesion and cell migration. Plays a role in lipoprotein clearance. Aberrant expression of CSF1 or CSF1R can promote cancer cell proliferation, invasion and formation of metastases. Overexpression of CSF1 or CSF1R is observed in a significant percentage of breast, ovarian, prostate, and endometrial cancers. Aberrant expression of CSF1 or CSF1R may play a role in inflammatory diseases, such as rheumatoid arthritis, glomerulonephritis, atherosclerosis, and allograft rejection. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes

The Human M-CSF csf1 (Catalog #AAA1752722) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA1752722 ELISA Kit recognizes Human M-CSF. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "M-CSF, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
