Intended Uses: This sandwich kit is for the accurate quantitative detection of human Interleukin 8 Receptor Alpha (also known as IL-8RA) in serum, plasma, cell culture supernates, cell lysates, tissue homogenates.

Principles of the Assay: This kit is an Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA). The plate has been pre-coated with human IL-8RA antibody. IL-8RA present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated human IL-8RA Antibody is added and binds to IL-8RA in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated IL-8RA antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of human IL-8RA. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the G-protein-coupled receptor family. This protein is a receptor for interleukin 8 (IL8). It binds to IL8 with high affinity, and transduces the signal through a G-protein activated second messenger system. Knockout studies in mice suggested that this protein inhibits embryonic oligodendrocyte precursor migration in developing spinal cord. This gene, IL8RB, a gene encoding another high affinity IL8 receptor, as well as IL8RBP, a pseudogene of IL8RB, form a gene cluster in a region mapped to chromosome 2q33-q36. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

Receptor to interleukin-8, which is a powerful neutrophils chemotactic factor. Binding of IL-8 to the receptor causes activation of neutrophils. This response is mediated via a G-protein that activate a phosphatidylinositol-calcium second messenger system. This receptor binds to IL-8 with a high affinity and to MGSA (GRO) with a low affinity.

Product Notes

The Human IL-8Ra cxcr1 (Catalog #AAA167333) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA167333 ELISA Kit recognizes Human IL-8Ra. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Interleukin 8 Receptor Alpha (IL-8Ra), ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
