Related Product Information for HOXB4 elisa kit
Intended Uses: This ELISA kit applies to the invitro quantitative determination of HumanHOXB4concentrations in serum, plasma and other biological fluids.

Principle of the Assay: This ELISA kit uses Sandwich-ELISA as the method. The micro ELISA plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to HOXB4. Standards or samples are added to the appropriate micro ELISA plate wells and combined with the specific antibody. Then a biotinylated detection antibody specific for HOXB4and Avidin-Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugate is added to each micro plate well successively and incubated. Free components are washed away. The substrate solution is added to each well. Only those wells that contain HOXB4, biotinylated detection antibody and Avidin-HRP conjugate will appear blue in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of a sulphuric acid solution and the color turns yellow. The optical density (OD) is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm +/- 2 nm. The OD value is proportional to the concentration of HOXB4.You can calculate the concentration of HOXB4in the samples by comparing the OD of the samples to the standard curve.

NCBI Description

This gene is a member of the Antp homeobox family and encodes a nuclear protein with a homeobox DNA-binding domain. It is included in a cluster of homeobox B genes located on chromosome 17. The encoded protein functions as a sequence-specific transcription factor that is involved in development. Intracellular or ectopic expression of this protein expands hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells in vivo and in vitro, making it a potential candidate for therapeutic stem cell expansion. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

HOXB4: Sequence-specific transcription factor which is part of a developmental regulatory system that provides cells with specific positional identities on the anterior-posterior axis. Belongs to the Antp homeobox family. Deformed subfamily.

Protein type: DNA-binding; Transcription factor

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 17q21.32

Cellular Component: nucleus

Molecular Function: sequence-specific DNA binding; transcription factor activity

Biological Process: spleen development; anterior/posterior pattern formation; bone marrow development; cell proliferation; transcription, DNA-dependent; morphogenesis of an epithelial sheet; somatic stem cell division; positive regulation of transcription from RNA polymerase II promoter; negative regulation of transcription from RNA polymerase II promoter; embryonic skeletal morphogenesis

Product Notes

The Human HOXB4 hoxb4 (Catalog #AAA2516355) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA2516355 ELISA Kit recognizes Human HOXB4. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "HOXB4, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
