Specificity
This assay has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for detection of HNRNPC. No significant cross-reactivity or interference between HNRNPC and analogues was observed. NOTE: Limited by current skills and knowledge, it is impossible for us to complete the cross-reactivity detection between HNRNPC and all the analogues, therefore, cross reaction may still exist in some cases.

Intended Uses: This HNRNPC ELISA kit is a 1.5 hour solid-phase ELISA designed for the quantitative determination of Human HNRNPC. This ELISA kit for research use only!

Principle of the Assay: HNRNPC ELISA kit applies the competitive enzyme immunoassay technique utilizing a polyclonal anti-HNRNPC antibody and an HNRNPC-HRP conjugate. The assay sample and buffer are incubated together with HNRNPC-HRP conjugate in pre-coated plate for one hour. After the incubation period, the wells are decanted and washed five times. The wells are then incubated with a substrate for HRP enzyme. The product of the enzyme-substrate reaction forms a blue colored complex. Finally, a stop solution is added to stop the reaction, which will then turn the solution yellow. The intensity of color is measured spectrophotometrically at 450nm in a microplate reader. The intensity of the color is inversely proportional to the HNRNPC concentration since HNRNPC from samples and HNRNPC-HRP conjugate compete for the anti-HNRNPC antibody binding site. Since the number of sites is limited, as more sites are occupied by HNRNPC from the sample, fewer sites are left to bind HNRNPC-HRP conjugate. A standard curve is plotted relating the intensity of the color (O.D.) to the concentration of standards. The HNRNPC concentration in each sample is interpolated from this standard curve.

NCBI Description

This gene belongs to the subfamily of ubiquitously expressed heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoproteins (hnRNPs). The hnRNPs are RNA binding proteins and they complex with heterogeneous nuclear RNA (hnRNA). These proteins are associated with pre-mRNAs in the nucleus and appear to influence pre-mRNA processing and other aspects of mRNA metabolism and transport. While all of the hnRNPs are present in the nucleus, some seem to shuttle between the nucleus and the cytoplasm. The hnRNP proteins have distinct nucleic acid binding properties. The protein encoded by this gene can act as a tetramer and is involved in the assembly of 40S hnRNP particles. Multiple transcript variants encoding at least two different isoforms have been described for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

hnRNP C1/C2: a heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoprotein. May play a role in ribonucleosome assembly by neutralizing basic proteins such as A and B core hnRNP. Contains 1 RNA recognition motif (RRM) domain. Two alternatively spliced isoforms have been described.

Product Notes

The Human HNRNPC hnrnpc (Catalog #AAA7201822) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA7201822 ELISA Kit recognizes Human HNRNPC. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoproteins C1/C2 (HNRNPC), ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
