Related Product Information for ERVK5 elisa kit
Principle of the Assay: As mentioned above, this kit utilizes the Double Antibody Sandwich ELISA technique. The pre-coated antibody is an anti-Human ERVK5 monoclonal antibody, while the detection antibody is a biotinylated polyclonal antibody. Samples and biotinylated antibodies are added into ELISA plate wells and washed out with PBS or TBS after their respective additions to the wells. Then Avidin-peroxidase conjugates are added to the wells in after. TMB substrate is used for coloration after the enzyme conjugate has already been thoroughly washed out of the wells by PBS or TBS. TMB reacts to form a blue product from the peroxidase activity, and finally turns to yellow after addition of the stop solution (Color Reagent C). The color intensity and quantity of target analyte in the sample are positively correlated.

Uniprot Description

ERVK5: The products of the Gag polyproteins of infectious retroviruses perform highly complex orchestrated tasks during the assembly, budding, maturation, and infection stages of the viral replication cycle. During viral assembly, the proteins form membrane associations and self-associations that ultimately result in budding of an immature virion from the infected cell. Gag precursors also function during viral assembly to selectively bind and package two plus strands of genomic RNA. Endogenous Gag proteins may have kept, lost or modified their original function during evolution. Belongs to the beta type-B retroviral Gag protein family. HERV class-II K(HML-2) gag subfamily. 1 isoforms of the human protein are produced by ribosomal frameshifting.

Product Notes

The Human ERVK5 ervk-5 (Catalog #AAA2602647) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA2602647 ELISA Kit recognizes Human ERVK5. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "HERV-K_3q12.3 provirus ancestral Gag polyprotein, ERVK5, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
