Preparation and Storage
The stability of kit is determined by the loss rate of activity. The loss rate of this kit is less than 5% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
To minimize extra influence on the performance, operation procedures and lab conditions, especially room temperature, air humidity, incubator temperature should be strictly controlled. It is also strongly suggested that the whole assay is performed by the same operator from the beginning to the end.

Related Product Information for HHIP elisa kit
The test principle applied in this kit is Sandwich enzyme immunoassay. The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to Hedgehog Interacting Protein (HHIP). Standards or samples are then added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells with a biotin-conjugated antibody specific to Hedgehog Interacting Protein (HHIP). Next, Avidin conjugated to Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to each microplate well and incubated. After TMB substrate solution is added, only those wells that contain Hedgehog Interacting Protein (HHIP), biotin-conjugated antibody and enzyme-conjugated Avidin will exhibit a change in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of sulphuric acid solution and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450nm ± 10nm. The concentration of Hedgehog Interacting Protein (HHIP) in the samples is then determined by comparing the O.D. of the samples to the standard curve.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the hedgehog-interacting protein (HHIP) family. The hedgehog (HH) proteins are evolutionarily conserved protein, which are important morphogens for a wide range of developmental processes, including anteroposterior patterns of limbs and regulation of left-right asymmetry in embryonic development. Multiple cell-surface receptors are responsible for transducing and/or regulating HH signals. The HHIP encoded by this gene is a highly conserved, vertebrate-specific inhibitor of HH signaling. It interacts with all three HH family members, SHH, IHH and DHH. Two single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) near this gene are significantly associated with risk of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). A single nucleotide polymorphism in this gene is also strongly associated with human height.[provided by RefSeq, Feb 2011]

Uniprot Description

HHIP: Modulates hedgehog signaling in several cell types including brain and lung through direct interaction with members of the hedgehog family. Belongs to the HHIP family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Cell development/differentiation; Membrane protein, integral

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 4q28-q32

Cellular Component: cell surface; integral to plasma membrane; cytoplasm; extracellular region

Molecular Function: protein binding; oxidoreductase activity, acting on the CH-OH group of donors, quinone or similar compound as acceptor; zinc ion binding; quinone binding

Biological Process: smoothened signaling pathway; dorsal/ventral pattern formation; skeletal morphogenesis; negative regulation of smoothened signaling pathway; carbohydrate metabolic process; neuroblast proliferation; regulation of fibroblast growth factor receptor signaling pathway; negative regulation of signal transduction

Product Notes

The Human HHIP hhip (Catalog #AAA2019328) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA2019328 ELISA Kit recognizes Human HHIP. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Hedgehog Interacting Protein (HHIP), ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
