Usage Notes
* Do not mix components from different kit lots or use reagents beyond the kit expiration date.
* Allow all reagents to warm to room temperature for at least 30 minutes before opening.
* Pre-rinse the pipet tip with reagent, use fresh pipet tips for each sample, standard and reagent to avoid contamination.
* Unused wells must be kept desiccated at 4 degree C in the sealed bag provided.
* Mix Thoroughly is very important for the result. It is recommended using low frequency oscillator or slight hand shaking every 10 minutes.
* It is recommended that all samples and standards be assayed in duplicate or triplicate.
Preparation and Storage
Store at 2-8 degree C.

Related Product Information for GLUT3 elisa kit
Description: This Human Glucose transporter 3 (GLUT3) ELISA Kit employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate SLC2A3 in samples. An antibody specific for SLC2A3 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and any SLC2A3 present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for SLC2A3 is added to the wells. After washing, Streptavidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of SLC2A3 bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

Background: GLUT3 is a high-affinity isoform of Type I glucose transporter expressed mostly in neurons where it is believed to be the main glucose transporter isoform, and in the placenta. GLUTs are integral membrane proteins which contain 12 membrane spanning helices with both the amino and carboxyl termini exposed on the cytoplasmic side of the plasma membrane. GLUT proteins transport glucose and related hexoses according to a model of alternate conformation, which predicts that the transporter exposes a single substrate binding site toward either the outside or the inside of the cell. Binding of glucose to one site provokes a conformational change associated with transport, and releases glucose to the other side of the membrane.

Uniprot Description

GLUT3: an integral membrane facilitative glucose transporter. One of 13 members of the human equilibrative glucose transport protein family. It???s surface expression is induced by insulin. It is restricted in humans to brain, testis (in the spermatozoa), and skeletal muscle, mostly in triads of slow-twitch fibres. Detected only in the brain of mouse and rat. IHC demonstrates its present in neurons, mainly at the plasma membrane, and to a lesser extent on intracellular vesicles distinct from synaptic vesicles. Present in the a-granules of human platelets, where it is translocated to the cell surface in response to thrombin stimulation. Its surface expression is increased by insulin or insulin growth-factor in cultured L6 muscle cells.

Product Notes

The Human GLUT3 slc2a3 (Catalog #AAA9716297) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA9716297 ELISA Kit recognizes Human GLUT3. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Glucose Transporter 3 (GLUT3), ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
