Related Product Information for DDC elisa kit
Intended Uses: The kit is a sandwich enzyme immunoassay for in vitro quantitative measurement of DDC in human tissue homogenates, cell lysates and other biological fluids.

Principle of the Assay: The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to DDC. Standards or samples are then added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells with a biotin-conjugated antibody preparation specific to DDC. Next, Avidin conjugated to Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to each microplate well and incubated. After TMB substrate solution is added, only those wells that contain DDC, biotin-conjugated antibody and enzyme-conjugated Avidin will exhibit a change in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of sulphuric acid solution and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450nm +/- 10nm. The concentration of DDC in the samples is then determined by comparing the O.D. of the samples to the standard curve.

NCBI Description

The encoded protein catalyzes the decarboxylation of L-3,4-dihydroxyphenylalanine (DOPA) to dopamine, L-5-hydroxytryptophan to serotonin and L-tryptophan to tryptamine. Defects in this gene are the cause of aromatic L-amino-acid decarboxylase deficiency (AADCD). AADCD deficiency is an inborn error in neurotransmitter metabolism that leads to combined serotonin and catecholamine deficiency. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jun 2011]

Uniprot Description

Catalyzes the decarboxylation of L-3,4-dihydroxyphenylalanine (DOPA) to dopamine, L-5-hydroxytryptophan to serotonin and L-tryptophan to tryptamine.

Product Notes

The Human DDC ddc (Catalog #AAA450861) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA450861 ELISA Kit recognizes Human DDC. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Dopa Decarboxylase (DDC), ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
