Human DNA Repair Protein RAD51 Homolog 1 (RAD51) ELISA Kit | RAD51 elisa kit
Human DNA Repair Protein RAD51 Homolog 1 (RAD51) ELISA Kit
* Allow all reagents to warm to room temperature for at least 30 minutes before opening.
* Pre-rinse the pipet tip with reagent, use fresh pipet tips for each sample, standard and reagent to avoid contamination.
* Unused wells must be kept desiccated at 4 degree C in the sealed bag provided.
* Mix Thoroughly is very important for the result. It is recommended using low frequency oscillator or slight hand shaking every 10 minutes.
* It is recommended that all samples and standards be assayed in duplicate or triplicate.
Background: RAD51 is a member of the RAD51 protein family. RAD51 family members are highly similar to bacterial RecA and Saccharomyces cerevisiae Rad51, and are known to be involved in the homologous recombination and repair of DNA. This protein can interact with the ssDNA-binding protein RPA and RAD52, and it is thought to play roles in homologous pairing and strand transfer of DNA. This protein is also found to interact with BRCA1 and BRCA2, which may be important for the cellular response to DNA damage. BRCA2 is shown to regulate both the intracellular localization and DNA-binding ability of this protein. Loss of these controls following BRCA2 inactivation may be a key event leading to genomic instability and tumorigenesis. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.

Uniprot Description
RAD51: a member of the RAD51 protein family. Involved in the homologous recombination and repair of DNA. Interacts with the ssDNA-binding protein RPA and RAD52, and it is thought to play roles in homologous pairing and strand transfer of DNA. Interacts with BRCA1 and BRCA2, which may be important for the cellular response to DNA damage. BRCA2 is shown to regulate both its intracellular localization and DNA-binding ability. Loss of these controls following BRCA2 inactivation may be a key event leading to genomic instability and tumorigenesis. Defects in RAD51 are associated with breast cancer. Two alternatively spliced isoforms have been reported.

Product Notes
The Human RAD51 rad51 (Catalog #AAA9714649) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA9714649 ELISA Kit recognizes Human RAD51. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "DNA Repair Protein RAD51 Homolog 1 (RAD51), ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
