Reactivity
Human
Specificity
This assay has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for detection of CDYL. No significant cross-reactivity or interference between CDYL and analogues was observed. NOTE: Limited by current skills and knowledge, it is impossible for us to complete the cross-reactivity detection between CDYL and all the analogues, therefore, cross reaction may still exist in some cases.
Samples
Serum, plasma, cell culture supernatants, body fluid and tissue homogenate
Assay Type
Quantitative Competitive
Sensitivity
1.0 ng/mL

Intended Uses: This CDYL ELISA kit is a 1.5 hour solid-phase ELISA designed for the quantitative determination of Human CDYL. This ELISA kit for research use only, not for therapeutic or test applications!

Principle of the Assay: CDYL ELISA kit applies the competitive enzyme immunoassay technique utilizing a polyclonal anti-CDYL antibody and an CDYL-HRP conjugate. The assay sample and buffer are incubated together with CDYL-HRP conjugate in pre-coated plate for one hour. After the incubation period, the wells are decanted and washed five times. The wells are then incubated with a substrate for HRP enzyme. The product of the enzyme-substrate reaction forms a blue colored complex. Finally, a stop solution is added to stop the reaction, which will then turn the solution yellow. The intensity of color is measured spectrophotometrically at 450nm in a microplate reader. The intensity of the color is inversely proportional to the CDYL concentration since CDYL from samples and CDYL-HRP conjugate compete for the anti-CDYL antibody binding site. Since the number of sites is limited, as more sites are occupied by CDYL from the sample, fewer sites are left to bind CDYL-HRP conjugate. A standard curve is plotted relating the intensity of the color (O.D.) to the concentration of standards. The CDYL concentration in each sample is interpolated from this standard curve.

NCBI Description

Chromodomain Y is a primate-specific Y-chromosomal gene family expressed exclusively in the testis and implicated in infertility. Although the Y-linked genes are testis-specific, this autosomal gene is ubiquitously expressed. The Y-linked genes arose by retrotransposition of an mRNA from this gene, followed by amplification of the retroposed gene. Proteins encoded by this gene superfamily possess a chromodomain, a motif implicated in chromatin binding and gene suppression, and a catalytic domain believed to be involved in histone acetylation. Multiple proteins are encoded by transcript variants of this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Product Notes

The Human CDYL cdyl (Catalog #AAA7229563) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA7229563 ELISA Kit recognizes Human CDYL. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Chromodomain Y like protein (CDYL), ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
