Human Choline/ethanolamine kinase, CHKB ELISA Kit | CHKB elisa kit
Human Choline/ethanolamine kinase, CHKB ELISA Kit
Principle of the Assay: This kit is an Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA). The plate has been pre-coated with Human CHKB antibody. CHKB present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human CHKB Antibody is added and binds to CHKB in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated CHKB antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human CHKB. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
Choline kinase (CK) and ethanolamine kinase (EK) catalyze the phosphorylation of choline/ethanolamine to phosphocholine/phosphoethanolamine. This is the first enzyme in the biosynthesis of phosphatidylcholine/phosphatidylethanolamine in all animal cells. The highly purified CKs from mammalian sources and their recombinant gene products have been shown to have EK activity also, indicating that both activities reside on the same protein. The choline kinase-like protein encoded by CHKL belongs to the choline/ethanolamine kinase family; however, its exact function is not known. Read-through transcripts are expressed from this locus that include exons from the downstream CPT1B locus. [provided by RefSeq, Jun 2009]
Uniprot Description
CHKB: Has a key role in phospholipid biosynthesis. Catalyzes the first step in phosphatidylethanolamine biosynthesis. Phosphorylates ethanolamine, and can also act on choline (in vitro). Has higher activity with ethanolamine. May not significantly contribute to in vivo phosphatidylcholine biosynthesis. Belongs to the choline/ethanolamine kinase family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes
The Human CHKB chkb (Catalog #AAA1605974) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA1605974 ELISA Kit recognizes Human CHKB. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Choline/ethanolamine kinase, CHKB, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
