Related Product Information for CCL17 elisa kit
Principle of the assay: human CCL17 ELISA Kit was based on standard sandwich enzyme-linked immune-sorbent assay technology. A monoclonal antibody from mouse specific for CCL17 has been precoated onto 96-well plates. Standards (E.coli,A24-S94) and test samples are added to the wells, a biotinylated detection polyclonal antibody from goat specific for CCL17 is added subsequently and then followed by washing with PBS or TBS buffer. Avidin-Biotin-Peroxidase Complex was added and unbound conjugates were washed away with PBS or TBS buffer. HRP substrate TMB was used to visualize HRP enzymatic reaction. TMB was catalyzed by HRP to produce a blue color product that changed into yellow after adding acidic stop solution. The density of yellow is proportional to the human CCL17 amount of sample captured in plate.
Background: Chemokine (C-C motif) ligand 17 (CCL17) is a small cytokine belonging to the CC chemokine family that is also known as thymus and activation regulated chemokine (TARC). CCL17 is expressed constitutively in thymus, but only transiently in phytohemagglutinin-stimulated peripheral blood mononuclear cells.1 This chemokine specifically bindsand induces chemotaxis in T cells and elicits its effects by interacting with the chemokine receptor CCR4.1,2The genefor CCL17 is located on chromosome 16, in humans, along with other chemokines called CCL22 and CX3CL1.3,4 Thestandard used in this kit is recombinant human CCL17, consisting of 71 amino acids with the molecular weight of 8Kda.

NCBI Description

This antimicrobial gene is one of several Cys-Cys (CC) cytokine genes clustered on the q arm of chromosome 16. Cytokines are a family of secreted proteins involved in immunoregulatory and inflammatory processes. The CC cytokines are proteins characterized by two adjacent cysteines. The cytokine encoded by this gene displays chemotactic activity for T lymphocytes, but not monocytes or granulocytes. The product of this gene binds to chemokine receptors CCR4 and CCR8. This chemokine plays important roles in T cell development in thymus as well as in trafficking and activation of mature T cells. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2014]

Uniprot Description

CCL17: Chemotactic factor for T-lymphocytes but not monocytes or granulocytes. May play a role in T-cell development in thymus and in trafficking and activation of mature T-cells. Binds to CCR4. Belongs to the intercrine beta (chemokine CC) family.

Product Notes

The Human CCL17 ccl17 (Catalog #AAA175885) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA175885 ELISA Kit recognizes Human CCL17. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CCL17/TARC, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
