Intended Uses: This CA9 ELISA kit is a 1.5 hour solid-phase ELISA designed for the quantitative determination of Bovine CA9. This ELISA kit for research use only!

Principle of the Assay: CA9 ELISA kit applies the competitive enzyme immunoassay technique utilizing an anti-CA9 antibody and an CA9-HRP conjugate. The assay sample and buffer are incubated together with CA9-HRP conjugate in pre-coated plate for one hour. After the incubation period, the wells are decanted and washed five times. The wells are then incubated with a substrate for HRP enzyme. The product of the enzyme-substrate reaction forms a blue colored complex. Finally, a stop solution is added to stop the reaction, which will then turn the solution yellow. The intensity of color is measured spectrophotometrically at 450nm in a microplate reader. The intensity of the color is inversely proportional to the CA9 concentration since CA9 from samples and CA9-HRP conjugate compete for the anti-CA9 antibody binding site. Since the number of sites is limited, as more sites are occupied by CA9 from the sample, fewer sites are left to bind CA9-HRP conjugate. A standard curve is plotted relating the intensity of the color (O.D.) to the concentration of standards. The CA9 concentration in each sample is interpolated from this standard curve.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a novel neural/endocrine-specific cytosolic and peripheral membrane protein required for the Ca2+-regulated exocytosis of secretory vesicles. The protein acts at a stage in exocytosis that follows ATP-dependent priming, which involves the essential synthesis of phosphatidylinositol 4,5-bisphosphate (PtdIns(4,5)P2). Alternative splicing has been observed at this locus and three variants, encoding distinct isoforms, are described. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2008]

Uniprot Description

CADPS: Calcium-binding protein involved in exocytosis of vesicles filled with neurotransmitters and neuropeptides. Probably acts upstream of fusion in the biogenesis or maintenance of mature secretory vesicles. Regulates catecholamine loading of DCVs. May specifically mediate the Ca(2+)-dependent exocytosis of large dense-core vesicles (DCVs) and other dense-core vesicles by acting as a PtdIns(4,5)P2-binding protein that acts at prefusion step following ATP-dependent priming and participates in DCVs-membrane fusion. However, it may also participate in small clear synaptic vesicles (SVs) exocytosis and it is unclear whether its function is related to Ca(2+) triggering. 5 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes

The Human CADPS cadps (Catalog #AAA7206707) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA7206707 ELISA Kit recognizes Human CADPS. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Calcium dependent secretion activator 1 (CADPS), ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
