Principle of the Assay: This kit is an Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA). The plate has been pre-coated with human BFGF-4 antibody. BFGF-4 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated human BFGF-4 Antibody is added and binds to BFGF-4 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated BFGF-4 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of human BFGF-4. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

The B lymphocyte antigen receptor is a multimeric complex that includes the antigen-specific component, surface immunoglobulin (Ig). Surface Ig non-covalently associates with two other proteins, Ig-alpha and Ig-beta, which are necessary for expression and function of the B-cell antigen receptor. This gene encodes the Ig-alpha protein of the B-cell antigen component. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been described. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
