Related Product Information for ASMA elisa kit
Principle of the Assay: As mentioned above, this kit utilizes the Double Antigen Sandwich ELISA technique. The pre-coated antigen is a related-Human ASMA antigen, while the detection antigen is another antigen. Samples are added into ELISA plate wells and washed out with PBS or TBS after their respective additions to the wells. Then Avidin-peroxidase conjugates are added to the wells in after. TMB substrate is used for coloration after the enzyme conjugate has already been thoroughly washed out of the wells by PBS or TBS. TMB reacts to form a blue product from the peroxidase activity, and finally turns to yellow after addition of the stop solution (Color Reagent C). The color intensity and quantity of target analyte in the sample are positively correlated.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a type II membrane protein that catalyzes the transfer of sialic acid from CMP-sialic acid to galactose-containing substrates. The encoded protein prefers glycoproteins rather than glycolipids as substrates and shows restricted substrate specificity, utilizing only the trisaccharide sequence Neu5Ac-alpha-2,3-Gal-beta-1,3-GalNAc. In addition, it is involved in the synthesis of ganglioside GD1A from GM1B. The encoded protein is normally found in the Golgi apparatus but can be proteolytically processed to a soluble form. This protein is a member of glycosyltransferase family 29. Transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

ST6GALNAC4: Involved in the biosynthesis of ganglioside GD1A from GM1B. Transfers CMP-NeuAc with an alpha-2,6-linkage to GalNAc residue on NeuAc-alpha-2,3-Gal-beta-1,3-GalNAc of glycoproteins and glycolipids. Prefers glycoproteins to glycolipids. Belongs to the glycosyltransferase 29 family.

Protein type: EC 2.4.99.7; Membrane protein, integral; Transferase; Glycan Metabolism - glycosphingolipid biosynthesis - ganglio series

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 9q34

Cellular Component: Golgi membrane; integral to membrane

Molecular Function: (alpha-N-acetylneuraminyl-2,3-beta-galactosyl-1,3)-N-acetyl-galactosaminide 6-alpha-sialyltransferase activity; sialyltransferase activity

Biological Process: protein amino acid O-linked glycosylation; glycolipid metabolic process; cellular protein metabolic process; O-glycan processing; dolichol-linked oligosaccharide biosynthetic process; protein amino acid N-linked glycosylation via asparagine; post-translational protein modification

Product Notes

The Human ASMA st6galnac4 (Catalog #AAA260315) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA260315 ELISA Kit recognizes Human ASMA. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "anti-skeletal muscle antibody (ASMA), ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
