Intended Uses: For the quantitative detection of Human Anti-neutrophil antibody (ANA) concentration in serum, plasma and other biological fluids.

Principle of the Assay: This assay employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate ANA in Human serum, plasma. An antigen specific for ANA has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and any ANA present is bound by the immobilized antigen. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antigen specific for ANA is added to the wells. After washing, Streptavidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of ANA bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes neutrophil cytosolic factor 2, the 67-kilodalton cytosolic subunit of the multi-protein NADPH oxidase complex found in neutrophils. This oxidase produces a burst of superoxide which is delivered to the lumen of the neutrophil phagosome. Mutations in this gene, as well as in other NADPH oxidase subunits, can result in chronic granulomatous disease, a disease that causes recurrent infections by catalase-positive organisms. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms. [provided by RefSeq, Jun 2010]

Uniprot Description

p67phox: NCF2, NCF1, and a membrane bound cytochrome b558 are required for activation of the latent NADPH oxidase (necessary for superoxide production). Interacts with SYTL1 and RAC1. Interacts with NCF4. May interact with NOXO1. Belongs to the NCF2/NOXA1 family.

Product Notes

The Human ANA ncf2 (Catalog #AAA285066) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA285066 ELISA Kit recognizes Human ANA. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Anti-neutrophil antibody (ANA), ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
