Human Ankyrin 3 (ANK3) ELISA Kit
Principle of the Assay: ANGPTL5 ELISA kit applies the competitive enzyme immunoassay technique utilizing a polyclonal anti-ANGPTL5 antibody and an ANGPTL5-HRP conjugate. The assay sample and buffer are incubated together with ANGPTL5-HRP conjugate in pre-coated plate for one hour. After the incubation period, the wells are decanted and washed five times. The wells are then incubated with a substrate for HRP enzyme. The product of the enzyme-substrate reaction forms a blue colored complex. Finally, a stop solution is added to stop the reaction, which will then turn the solution yellow. The intensity of color is measured spectrophotometrically at 450nm in a microplate reader. The intensity of the color is inversely proportional to the ANGPTL5 concentration since ANGPTL5 from samples and ANGPTL5-HRP conjugate compete for the anti-ANGPTL5 antibody binding site. Since the number of sites is limited, as more sites are occupied by ANGPTL5 from the sample, fewer sites are left to bind ANGPTL5-HRP conjugate. A standard curve is plotted relating the intensity of the color (O.D.) to the concentration of standards. The ANGPTL5 concentration in each sample is interpolated from this standard curve.
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene encodes a member of the ankyrin protein family. Ankyrins link integral membrane proteins to the spectrin-based cytoskeleton. Ankyrin family members share a protein structure which includes three independently folded domains: the N-terminal ankyrin repeat domain, the central spectrin-binding domain, and the C-terminal rod domain. This ankyrin functions as the major ankyrin in the kidney and may play a role in the polarized distribution of many integral membrane proteins to specific subcellular sites. Alternative splicing of this gene results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Uniprot Description
ANK3: In skeletal muscle, required for costamere localization of DMD and betaDAG1. Membrane-cytoskeleton linker. May participate in the maintenance/targeting of ion channels and cell adhesion molecules at the nodes of Ranvier and axonal initial segments. Genetic variations in ANK3 are associated with autism spectrum disorders susceptibility. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes
The Human ANK3 ank3 (Catalog #AAA7243153) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA7243153 ELISA Kit recognizes Human ANK3. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Ankyrin 3 (ANK3), ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
