Related Product Information for 17-KS elisa kit
Principle of the Assay: This experiment use double-sandwich elisa technique and the ELISA Kit provided is typical. The pre-coated antibody is human 17-KS monoclonal antibody and the detecting antibody is polyclonal antibody with biotin labeled. Samples and biotin labeling antibody are added into ELISA plate wells and washed out with PBS or TBS. Then Avidin-peroxidase conjugates are added to ELISA wells in order; Use TMB substrate for coloring after reactant thoroughly washed out by PBS or TBS. TMB turns into blue in peroxidase catalytic and finally turns into yellow under the action of acid. The color depth and the testing factors in samples are positively correlated.

Uniprot Description

HSD17B3: Favors the reduction of androstenedione to testosterone. Uses NADPH while the two other EDH17B enzymes use NADH. Defects in HSD17B3 are the cause of male pseudohermaphrodism with gynecomastia (MPH). These individuals have unambiguous female external genitalia at birth, but fail to menstruate at the time of expected puberty and instead virilize as evidenced by growth of the phallus. Breast development may or may not take place. Belongs to the short-chain dehydrogenases/reductases (SDR) family. 17-beta-HSD 3 subfamily.

Protein type: Lipid Metabolism - androgen and estrogen; EC 1.1.1.64; Oxidoreductase

Cellular Component: intracellular membrane-bound organelle

Molecular Function: estradiol 17-beta-dehydrogenase activity; testosterone 17-beta-dehydrogenase (NADP+) activity; oxidoreductase activity; 3-alpha(17-beta)-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase (NAD+) activity

Biological Process: metabolic process; lipid metabolic process; steroid biosynthetic process

Product Notes

The Human 17-KS hsd17b3 (Catalog #AAA262237) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA262237 ELISA Kit recognizes Human 17-KS. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "17-keto-steroid (17-KS), ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
