Related Product Information for STMN1 clia kit
Intended Uses: This CLIA kit applies to the in vitro quantitative determination of STMN1 concentrations in serum, plasma and other biological fluids.

Principle of the Assay: This kit uses Sandwich-CLIA as the method. The micro CLIA plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to STMN1. Standards or samples are added to the appropriate micro CLIA plate wells and combined with the specific antibody. Then a biotinylated detection antibody specific for STMN1 and Avidin-Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugate is added to each micro plate well successively and incubated. Free components are washed away. The substrate solution is added to each well. Only those wells that contain STMN1, biotinylated detection antibody and Avidin-HRP conjugate will appear fluorescence. The Relative light unit (RLU) value is measured spectrophotometrically by the Chemiluminescence immunoassay analyzer. The RLU value is positively associated with the concentration of STMN1. You can calculate the concentration of STMN1 in the samples by comparing the RLU value of the samples to the standard curve.

NCBI Description

This gene belongs to the stathmin family of genes. It encodes a ubiquitous cytosolic phosphoprotein proposed to function as an intracellular relay integrating regulatory signals of the cellular environment. The encoded protein is involved in the regulation of the microtubule filament system by destabilizing microtubules. It prevents assembly and promotes disassembly of microtubules. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Feb 2009]

Uniprot Description

STMN1: a microtubule-associated protein involved in the regulation of the microtubule filament system by destabilizing microtubules. It prevents assembly and promotes disassembly of microtubules. Phosphorylation reduces tubulin binding 10-fold and suppresses the MT polymerization inhibition activity. Present in much greater abundance in cells from patients with acute leukemia of different subtypes than in normal peripheral blood lymphocytes, nonleukemic proliferating lymphoid cells, bone marrow cells, or cells from patients with chronic lymphoid or myeloid leukemia.

Protein type: Cytoskeletal

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 1p36.11

Cellular Component: microtubule; neuron projection; membrane; cytoplasm; intracellular; cytosol

Molecular Function: tubulin binding; signal transducer activity; protein binding

Biological Process: mitotic spindle organization and biogenesis; axonogenesis; negative regulation of microtubule polymerization; response to virus; microtubule depolymerization; brain development; positive regulation of cell motility; signal transduction; neurite development; regulation of cytoskeleton organization and biogenesis

Product Notes

The Human STMN1 stmn1 (Catalog #AAA2530915) is a CLIA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA2530915 CLIA Kit recognizes Human STMN1. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "STMN1 (Stathmin 1), CLIA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
