< 0.113ng/mL
Intra-assay Precision
Intra-assay Precision (Precision within an assay): 3 samples with low, middle and high level DEFa1 were tested 20 times on one plate, respectively. Intra-Assay: CV<10%
Inter-assay Precision
Inter-assay Precision (Precision between assays): 3 samples with low, middle and high level DEFa1 were tested on 3 different plates, 8 replicates in each plate. CV(%) = SD/meanX100. Inter-Assay: CV<12%
Preparation and Storage
The stability of kit is determined by the loss rate of activity. The loss rate of this kit is less than 5% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
To minimize extra influence on the performance, operation procedures and lab conditions, especially room temperature, air humidity, incubator temperature should be strictly controlled. It is also strongly suggested that the whole assay is performed by the same operator from the beginning to the end.

Related Product Information for DEFa1 clia kit
Intended Uses: The Chemiluminescent Immunoassay kit is designed for the in vitro sensitive quantitative measurement of DEFa1 in human serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids.

Principle of the Assay: The microplate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to DEFa1. Standards or samples are then added to the appropriate microplate wells with a biotin-conjugated antibody specific to DEFa1. Next, Avidin conjugated to Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to each microplate well and incubated. Then the mixture of substrate A and B is added to generate glow light emission kinetics. Upon plate development, the intensity of the emitted light is proportional to the DEFa1 level in the sample or standard.

NCBI Description

Defensins are a family of microbicidal and cytotoxic peptides thought to be involved in host defense. They are abundant in the granules of neutrophils and also found in the epithelia of mucosal surfaces such as those of the intestine, respiratory tract, urinary tract, and vagina. Members of the defensin family are highly similar in protein sequence and distinguished by a conserved cysteine motif. The protein encoded by this gene, defensin, alpha 1, is found in the microbicidal granules of neutrophils and likely plays a role in phagocyte-mediated host defense. Several alpha defensin genes are clustered on chromosome 8. This gene differs from defensin, alpha 3 by only one amino acid. This gene and the gene encoding defensin, alpha 3 are both subject to copy number variation. [provided by RefSeq, May 2010]

Uniprot Description

defensin, alpha 1: Defensin 1 and defensin 2 have antibacterial, fungicide and antiviral activities. Has antimicrobial activity against Gram- negative and Gram-positive bacteria. Defensins are thought to kill microbes by permeabilizing their plasma membrane. Belongs to the alpha-defensin family.

Product Notes

The Human DEFa1 defa1 (Catalog #AAA2709435) is a CLIA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA2709435 CLIA Kit recognizes Human DEFa1. AAA Biotech's Defensin Alpha 1, Neutrophil (DEFa1) can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Chemiluminescent Immunoassay (CLIA). Chemiluminescent immunoassay for Antigen Detection. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the DEFa1 defa1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Defensin Alpha 1, Neutrophil (DEFa1), CLIA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
