Principle of the Assay: This assay employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate HSP gp96 in samples. An antibody specific for HSP gp96 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and anyHSP gp96 present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for HSP gp96 is added to the wells. After washing, Streptavidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of HSP gp96 bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the heat shock protein 90 family; these proteins are involved in signal transduction, protein folding and degradation and morphological evolution. This gene encodes the constitutive form of the cytosolic 90 kDa heat-shock protein and is thought to play a role in gastric apoptosis and inflammation. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. Pseudogenes have been identified on multiple chromosomes. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2012]

Uniprot Description

HSP90B: Molecular chaperone that promotes the maturation, structural maintenance and proper regulation of specific target proteins involved for instance in cell cycle control and signal transduction. Undergoes a functional cycle that is linked to its ATPase activity. This cycle probably induces conformational changes in the client proteins, thereby causing their activation. Interacts dynamically with various co-chaperones that modulate its substrate recognition, ATPase cycle and chaperone function. Homodimer. Interacts with p53/TP53. Forms a complex with CDK6 and Hsp90/HSP90AB1. Interacts with UNC45A. Binding to UNC45A involves 2 UNC45A monomers per HSP90AB1 dimer. Interacts with CHORDC1 and DNAJC7. Interacts with FKBP4. Belongs to the heat shock protein 90 family.

Product Notes

The Human HSP gp96 hsp90ab1 (Catalog #AAA284431) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA284431 ELISA Kit recognizes Human HSP gp96. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Heat Shock Protein glycoprotein 96, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
