Related Product Information for HERPuD1 recombinant protein
Homocysteine-responsive endoplasmic reticulum-resident ubiquitin-like domain member 1 protein, also known as HERPuD1, is a 391 amino acid multi-pass membrane protein that localizes to the ER and contains one N-terminal ubiquitin-like domain. Widely expressed with highest expression in the brain, HERP is a component of the ERAD system and, via its ubiquitin-like domain, is thought to be involved in the destruction of misfolded proteins. Recombinant human HERPuD1 protein, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, was expressed in E Coli and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques.

NCBI Description

The accumulation of unfolded proteins in the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) triggers the ER stress response. This response includes the inhibition of translation to prevent further accumulation of unfolded proteins, the increased expression of proteins involved in polypeptide folding, known as the unfolded protein response (UPR), and the destruction of misfolded proteins by the ER-associated protein degradation (ERAD) system. This gene may play a role in both UPR and ERAD. Its expression is induced by UPR and it has an ER stress response element in its promoter region while the encoded protein has an N-terminal ubiquitin-like domain which may interact with the ERAD system. This protein has been shown to interact with presenilin proteins and to increase the level of amyloid-beta protein following its overexpression. Alternative splicing of this gene produces multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms. The full-length nature of all transcript variants has not been determined. [provided by RefSeq, Jan 2013]

Uniprot Description

Component of the endoplasmic reticulum quality control (ERQC) system also called ER-associated degradation (ERAD) involved in ubiquitin-dependent degradation of misfolded endoplasmic reticulum proteins. Could enhance presenilin-mediated amyloid-beta protein 40 generation. Binds to ubiquilins and this interaction is required for efficient degradation of CD3D via the ERAD pathway (PubMed:18307982).

Product Notes

The HERPuD1 herpud1 (Catalog #AAA206119) is a Recombinant Protein produced from E Coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The tag for this protein is His-tag. AAA Biotech's HERPuD1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, SDS-PAGE. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the HERPuD1 herpud1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The amino acid sequence is listed below: MGSSHHHHHH SSGLVPRGSH MGSMESETEP EPVTLLVKSP NQRHRDLELS GDRGWSVGHL KAHLSRVYPE RPRPEDQRLI YSGKLLLDHQ CLRDLLPKQE KRHVLHLVCN VKSPSKMPEI NAKVAESTEE PAGSNRGQYP EDSSSDGLRQ REVLRNLSSP GWENISRPEA AQQAFQGLGP GFSGYTPYGW LQLSWFQQIY ARQYYMQYLA ATAASGAFVP PPSAQEIPVV SAPAPAPIHN QFPAENQPAN QNAAPQVVVN PGANQNLRMN AQGGPIVEED DEINRD. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "HERPuD1, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
