Goat Hepcidin ELISA Kit | HEPC elisa kit

Goat Hepcidin ELISA Kit

Gene Names
HAMP; HEPC; PLTR; HFE2B; LEAP1
Reactivity
Goat
Synonyms
Hepcidin; Goat Hepcidin ELISA Kit; HEPC elisa kit
Ordering
For Research Use Only!
Reactivity
Goat
Specificity
No significant cross-reactivity or interference between Goat HEPC and analogues was observed.
Samples
Serum, Plasma, Tissue Homogenate, Feces and Urine
Assay Type
Sandwich
Detection Range
6.25 ng/ml - 200 ng/ml.
Sensitivity
1.0 ng/ml.
Intended Uses
This Quantitative Sandwich ELISA kit is only for in vitro research use only, not for drug, household, therapeutic applications! It is intended to be determinated HEPC concentrations in Goat serum, plasma and other body fluids. Using Purified Goat HEPC antibody to coat Microelisa Stripplate wells to make solid-phase antibody, then add HEPC and HEPC antibody which has been labeled with HRP to wells, then the reactants become antibody-antigen-antibody-enzyme complex, after washing completely, add TMB substrate solution, TMB substrate becomes blue color under HRP enzyme-catalyzed, reaction is terminated by the addition of a sulphuric acid solution and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm. The concentration of HEPC in the samples is then determined by comparing the O.D. of the samples to the standard curve.
Intra-assay Precision
Intra-assay CV (%) is less than 15%.
Inter-assay Precision
Inter-assay CV (%) is less than 15%. [CV(%) = SD/mean ×100]
Preparation and Storage
Store all reagents at 2-8 degree C

NCBI Description

The product encoded by this gene is involved in the maintenance of iron homeostasis, and it is necessary for the regulation of iron storage in macrophages, and for intestinal iron absorption. The preproprotein is post-translationally cleaved into mature peptides of 20, 22 and 25 amino acids, and these active peptides are rich in cysteines, which form intramolecular bonds that stabilize their beta-sheet structures. These peptides exhibit antimicrobial activity. Mutations in this gene cause hemochromatosis type 2B, also known as juvenile hemochromatosis, a disease caused by severe iron overload that results in cardiomyopathy, cirrhosis, and endocrine failure. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

HAMP: Seems to act as a signaling molecule involved in the maintenance of iron homeostasis. Seems to be required in conjunction with HFE to regulate both intestinal iron absorption and iron storage in macrophages. Defects in HAMP are the cause of hemochromatosis type 2B (HFE2B); also known as juvenile hemochromatosis (JH). HFE2B is a disorder of iron metabolism with excess deposition of iron in the tissues, bronze skin pigmentation, hepatic cirrhosis, arthropathy and diabetes. The most common symptoms of hemochromatosis type 2 at presentation are hypogonadism and cardiomyopathy. Belongs to the hepcidin family.

Protein type: Secreted; Secreted, signal peptide

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 19q13.1

Cellular Component: apical cortex; extracellular region

Molecular Function: hormone activity

Biological Process: cellular iron ion homeostasis; killing of cells of another organism; defense response to bacterium; immune response; defense response to fungus

Disease: Hemochromatosis, Type 2b

Product Notes

The Goat HEPC hamp (Catalog #AAA044535) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA044535 ELISA Kit recognizes Goat HEPC. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Hepcidin, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
