Ordering
For Research Use Only!
Host
HEK293
Purity/Purification
Greater than 95.0% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Form/Format
The recombinant MCSF was lyophilized after extensive dialysis against PBS.
Sterile Filtered White lyophilized (freeze-dried) powder.
Sequence Length
566
Solubility
It is recommended to reconstitute the MCSF in sterile PBS not less than 100 ug/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions.
Biological Activity
The ED50 of 3-4ng/ml is measured by its ability to stimulate the proliferation of mouse M-NFS-60 cells.
Preparation and Storage
Lyophilized MCSF although stable at room temperature for 3 weeks, should be stored desiccated below -18 degree C. Upon reconstitution MCSF should be stored at 4 degree C between 2-7 days and for future use below -18 degree C.For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA).Please prevent freeze-thaw cycles.
Related Product Information for rM CSF active protein
Description: MCSF Rat Recombinant produced in HEK-293 cells is a secreted protein (amino acids Glu33-Arg254). M-CSF is disulfide-linked homodimer containing 2 x 222 a.a chains.

Introduction: Granulocyte/Macrophage Colony-Stimulating Factors are cytokines that act in hematopoiesis by controlling the production, differentiation, and function of 2 related white cell populations of the blood, the granulocytes and the monocytes-macrophages. CSF-1 induces cells of the monocyte/macrophage lineage. It plays a role in immunological defenses, bone metabolism, lipoproteins clearance, fertility and pregnancy.

NCBI Description

plays a role in macrophage formation; involved in osteoclastogenesis and endochondral ossification [RGD, Feb 2006]

Uniprot Description

Cytokine that plays an essential role in the regulation of survival, proliferation and differentiation of hematopoietic precursor cells, especially mononuclear phagocytes, such as macrophages and monocytes. Promotes the release of proinflammatory chemokines, and thereby plays an important role in innate immunity and in inflammatory processes. Plays an important role in the regulation of osteoclast proliferation and differentiation, the regulation of bone resorption, and is required for normal bone development. Required for normal male and female fertility. Promotes reorganization of the actin cytoskeleton, regulates formation of membrane ruffles, cell adhesion and cell migration. Plays a role in lipoprotein clearance ().

Product Notes

The rM CSF csf1 (Catalog #AAA144744) is an Active Protein produced from HEK293 and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Macrophage Colony Stimulating Factor, Active Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
