Protein Construction
A DNA sequence encoding the zebrafish EFNB2A (O73874)(Met 1-Ala222) was expressed with the Fc region of human IgG1 at the C-terminus.
Reconstitution
A hardcopy of COA with reconstitution instruction is sent along with the products. Please refer to it for detailed information.
Activity
Measured by its binding ability in a functional ELISA. Immobilized human EphB4-His at 10ug/ml (100uL/well) can bind zebrafish EFNB2A-Fc. The EC50 of zebrafish EFNB2A-Fc is 12.8-30.1ng/mL.
Preparation and Storage
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20 degree C to -80 degree C. Store it under sterile conditions at -20 degree C to -80 degree C. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
In general, recombinant proteins are provided as lyophilized powder which are shipped at ambient temperature. Bulk packages of recombinant proteins are provided as frozen liquid.
They are shipped out with blue ice.

Related Product Information for EFNB2A active protein
Background: Efnb2a, also known as ephrin B2a, belongs to the ephrin family. Members of this family are crucial for migration, repulsion and adhesion during neuronal, vascular and epithelial development. Efnb2a binds promiscuously Eph receptors residing on adjacent cells, leading to contact-dependent bidirectional signaling into neighboring cells. The signaling pathway downstream of the receptor is referred to as forward signaling while the signaling pathway downstream of the ephrin ligand is referred to as reverse signaling. Efnb2a, together with ephb4 may play a central role in heart morphogenesis and angiogenesis through regulation of cell adhesion and cell migration.

Uniprot Description

Function: Cell surface transmembrane ligand for Eph receptors, a family of receptor tyrosine kinases which are crucial for migration, repulsion and adhesion during neuronal, vascular and epithelial development. Binds promiscuously Eph receptors residing on adjacent cells, leading to contact-dependent bidirectional signaling into neighboring cells. The signaling pathway downstream of the receptor is referred to as forward signaling while the signaling pathway downstream of the ephrin ligand is referred to as reverse signaling. Together with ephb4 may play a central role in heart morphogenesis and angiogenesis through regulation of cell adhesion and cell migration

By similarity.

Subunit structure: Binds to the receptor tyrosine kinase ephb4.

Subcellular location: Membrane; Single-pass type I membrane protein.

Post-translational modification: Inducible phosphorylation of tyrosine residues in the cytoplasmic domain

By similarity.

Sequence similarities: Belongs to the ephrin family.Contains 1 ephrin RBD (ephrin receptor-binding) domain.

Product Notes

The EFNB2A efnb2a (Catalog #AAA8123285) is an Active Protein produced from HEK293 Cells and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The amino acid sequence is listed below: Met1-Ala22 2. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "EFNB2A, Active Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
