Related Product Information for HDAC8 recombinant protein
Full-length recombinant human HDAC8 was expressed by baculovirus in Sf9 insect cells using an N-terminal GST tag. The gene accession number is BC050433.
HDAC8 or Histone deacetylase 8 belongs to the histone deacetylase/acuc/apha family and is a component of the histone deacetylase complex. The protein encoded by this gene belongs to class I of the histone deacetylase family that catalyzes the deacetylation of lysine residues in the histone N-terminal tails and represses transcription in large multiprotein complexes with transcriptional co-repressors (1). There are 2 adjacent histidine residues in the predicted active site (His142 and His143) that are required for HDAC activity on H4 peptide substrates and core histones (2). The knockdown of HDAC8 by RNA interference inhibited the growth of human lung, colon, and cervical cancer cell lines.

NCBI Description

Histones play a critical role in transcriptional regulation, cell cycle progression, and developmental events. Histone acetylation/deacetylation alters chromosome structure and affects transcription factor access to DNA. The protein encoded by this gene belongs to class I of the histone deacetylase family. It catalyzes the deacetylation of lysine residues in the histone N-terminal tails and represses transcription in large multiprotein complexes with transcriptional co-repressors. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2009]

Product Notes

The HDAC8 (Catalog #AAA517071) is a Recombinant Protein produced from Sf9 insect cells and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. AAA Biotech's HDAC8 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Histone Deacetylase (HDAC) Assay, Western Blot (WB). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the HDAC8 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "HDAC8, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
