Related Product Information for HBmu elisa kit
Principle of the Assay: HBu ELISA kit applies the competitive enzyme immunoassay technique utilizing a monoclonal anti-HBu antibody and an HBu-HRP conjugate. The assay sample and buffer are incubated together with HBu-HRP conjugate in pre-coated plate for one hour. After the incubation period, the wells are decanted and washed five times. The wells are then incubated with a substrate for HRP enzyme. The product of the enzyme-substrate reaction forms a blue colored complex. Finally, a stop solution is added to stop the reaction, which will then turn the solution yellow. The intensity of color is measured spectrophotometrically at 450nm in a microplate reader. The intensity of the color is inversely proportional to the HBu concentration since HBu from samples and HBu-HRP conjugate compete for the anti-HBu antibody bindingsite. Since the number of sites is limited, as more sites are occupied by from the sample, fewer sites are left to bind HBu-HRP conjugate. A standard curve is plotted relating the intensity of the color (O.D.) to the concentration of standard. The HBu concentration in each sample is interpolated from this standard curve.

NCBI Description

The human alpha globin gene cluster located on chromosome 16 spans about 30 kb and includes seven loci: 5'- zeta - pseudozeta - mu - pseudoalpha-1 - alpha-2 - alpha-1 - theta - 3'. This gene has an ORF encoding a 141 aa polypeptide which is similar to the delta globins found in reptiles and birds. This locus was originally described as a pseudogene; however, it is currently thought to be a protein-coding gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Product Notes

The Bovine HBmu hbm (Catalog #AAA743956) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA743956 ELISA Kit recognizes Bovine HBmu. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Hemoglobin, Mu, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
